Twelve South Inn has been offering accommodations in Nashville since December of 2011. Although we are marketed along with Bed & Breakfasts, we are an Inn. Our priority is to provide comfortable, convenient and private suites. All suites have private porches, private entrances and private en-suite baths.
We do not attempt to serve that unique communal, or gourmet’ breakfast. However, recently we have partnered with the Frothy Monkey, to provide a hot breakfast prepared from their menu, for our guest. They are located just 4 blocks from the Inn, on 12 Ave So, with-in walking distance.
We’re very conveniently located in the 12 South Commercial District and Neighborhood of Nashville, where you will find a wide variety of restaurants; clubs; pubs and boutiques, a short leisurely walk from our Inn. We are also located just 3 miles from the downtown core, (Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge; Ryman Auditorium; Country Music Hall of Fame) and all that Lower Broad has to offer. In addition, we are very conveniently located to Vanderbilt University; Peabody University; Belmont University, and David Lipscomb University. So far the guests that have stayed with us understand and appreciate what we are providing in the way of lodging…
The Twelve South Inn house was built in 1929, by the Gibson family, who owned the Greyhound Bus franchise in Nashville. The home was built as a triplex, in a manor so that when the family increased, either by a marriage or a birth, they had the ability to expand the living space for each new member of the family.
When we purchased the property in 1986, we are only the second family to own this property. Having been built when the concept was to build something that was going to last forever, you will find that when you stay here, the quality of construction makes for a peaceful, quiet and secure feeling. We look forward to sharing our accommodations, located right in the heart of Nashville. We hope to see you soon!
